MVA-Damage – An intoxicated driver fled after he lost control of his vehicle and struck a parked car.  An officer located the suspect driver, Naiuli Tuatoo, a short while later.  Tuatoo, 25 yoa, of Washington, was arrested for Driving under the Influence, Reckless Driving, Failure to Report an Accident and Failure to Show Proof of Insurance.

Drug Law Violation – An anonymous caller provided information about illegal drugs on board a local fishing vessel.  Officers seized the vessel and secured a search warrant after finding some paraphernalia on the boat.  Naiuli Tuatoo and Kevin Worthington, 45 yoa, of Sitka, were both arrested on charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance IV when additional drugs and paraphernalia were found in their staterooms.

Fire Safety – Residents complained about fireworks being ignited on Standard Oil Hill.  The culprit was located and advised of the complaint.

Disorderly Conduct – Caller reported a fight in progress at the Harbor View bar.  Investigation revealed a large group of drunken revelers had been pushing and shoving one another, without causing any injuries.

DUI – Officer stopped a driver for speeding and discovered she was intoxicated.  Bernadette Namasivayam, 42, of Unalaska, was unable to complete field sobriety tests and was arrested for Driving under the Influence and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

DUI – Officer advised a drunken man he should not drive his truck this night.  The man assured the officer he was quite capable of getting home before any police patrols caught him, but did leave the area in a taxi.  A short while later, the officer found the same man driving his truck away from the bar.  Driver Marvin Johnson, 30 yoa, of Astoria, was arrested for Driving under the Influence and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

Suspicious Person/Activity – Complainant reported a private party with potentially underage drinkers in a building over which she has managerial authority.  The party-goers had obtained permission to use the facility from the building’s other co-owner, and no minors were found on the premises.

Domestic Disturbance – UDPS received several 911 calls from a sobbing woman who reported her husband was just trying to prove a point.  Officers responded to the residence and discovered that Isaako Ilalio, 26 yoa, of Unalaska, had struck his girlfriend earlier in the evening after the two argued about one of her previous relationships.  Ilalio was arrested on one count of Assault IV- DV.

Alarms – Officers responded to an alarm at the Alaska Commercial store but found nothing amiss; the manager later reported that the alarm had been activated by high winds.

Found Property – Caller found a wallet in Seattle, which belongs to a person believed to be returning to Unalaska.  Officers were able to contact the owner and provide him with information about his wallet.

Suspicious Person/Activity – Caller reported a driver traveling in the wrong lane of traffic.  An officer located the suspect driver, who was not intoxicated and admitted he had been traveling near the center of the roadway.  The officer cautioned him not to take his half of the road out of the middle in the future.

Traffic Crime – Caller reported a speeding driver.  An officer located the suspect driver, who felt sure a taxi driver had reported him because he gave a ride to some men who would otherwise have paid a cab fare.  The driver was given a warning about his speed.
