I've always admired the speed and grace of these ships, the fastest commercial blue water sailers that ever roamed the seven seas.

First Kill - (4:07) BMI

I wrote this song after reading a 19th century book by Charles Melville Scammon describing the procedures for killing and rendering the ocean's largest mammals into oil and whalebone.

Morris the Moose - (2:38) BMI
Mike Campbell - Acoustic guitar and vocal, Laura Hall - washboard, Bob Wilkison - electric bass
I once narrowly avoided crashing into a large bull moose who was casually standing in the middle of an icy road munching on a Burger King bag.

About the cover: The artwork on the cover is a stone lithography print entitled "Tain Tain", done by my father, Charles W. Campbell in 1980. "Tain Tain" was the name his first grandchild, Tiffany Defke, called him when she was very little. Since the title song of the album is about my dad, I decided to use this "self portrait" for the cover art.
