A light hearted song about a world traveler.   I wrote this song about my wife when she was out of town for a week and I had to absorb her family and household duties while she was gone.  It felt longer than 5 days to me.

Sad Eyes - (3:46) BMI
Mike Campbell - lead vocals & acoustic guitar. Stu Schulman - drum programming, keyboard, lap steel, electric bass, electric sitar.
Here's a sad love song I wrote so I would be able to use the wonderful print of my father's on the cover of this recording.

Rainy Day Blues - (4:16) BMI
Mike Campbell - lead/harmony vocals & acoustic guitar. Stu Schulman - drum programming, keyboard, electric guitar, electric bass. Additional harmony vocals - Jeanene Walker.
Kodiak, Alaska is one of the most beautiful places in the world.  I wrote this song during a period when it also seemed like the rainiest place in the world too.

Pint Of Your Beer - (3:42) BMI

I've always enjoyed singing Irish drinking songs, I wrote this one for all my buddies down at the pub.

I grew up in Yuma, Arizona where the legends of wild west bad guys were as present as our daily dose of desert heat.  WARNING: Have some oxygen standing by if you sing this song at high altitudes.

I Never Told You - (4:11) BMI
Mike Campbell - lead/harmony vocals & acoustic guitar. Stu Schulman - drum programming, keyboard, electric bass, pedal steel, Hammond organ.
Sometimes we lose the things we want most, simply because we can't find the words to ask for them.

Fishermen in Alaska look forward to hooking one of these monsters that can weigh over 300 pounds.  This song was written while returning from a successful halibut fishing trip with my wife and our two sons.

Wilderness Letters - (4:17) BMI
Mike Campbell - vocals & acoustic guitar. Stu Schulman - keyboard, acoustic-electric guitar, electric bass.  Heather Adrian - violin.
My great grandfather was one of the many gold seekers who came to the Klondike and Nome at the end of the 19th century.  This song is for all the wives and sweethearts who stayed behind and took care of their homes and families while their idiot husbands went grubbing for riches in the mud.

Anniversary Song - (3:36) BMI
Mike Campbell - vocals & acoustic guitar. Stu Schulman - drum programming, keyboard, electric bass, slide guitar, Hammond organ.
I wrote this song for my wife on our 25th wedding anniversary.  I look forward to writing another one for our 50th.

Salmon Love - (3:33) BMI
Mike Campbell - lead/harmony vocals & acoustic guitar. Stu Schulman - drum programming, keyboard, electric bass, acoustic guitar.  Additional harmony vocals - Matt Hammer, Loren Arment, Peggy Monaghan, Jenny Murray, Kathleen Bielawski and Kirsten Baird.
Of all the species of salmon that fill the rivers and streams here in Alaska, my favorite to catch is the sockeye.  So I wrote this song about the life and death of this tasty fish.

Feeling Like A Rock - (3:46) BMI
Mike Campbell - vocals. Stu Schulman - drum programming, keyboard, electric bass, acoustic guitar, electric sitar.
Sometimes you feel like a rock, and sometimes you don't.

Little Jim - (3:10) BMI
Mike Campbell - lead/harmony vocals & acoustic guitar. Stu Schulman - drum programming, keyboard, lap steel, electric bass, acoustic-electric guitar.  G. W. Keyl - banjo.  Additional harmony vocals - Matt Hammer, Loren Arment.
My friend Jim Lovell (not the astronaut) was a fisherman in Kodiak at the time of the great Alaskan earthquake back in 1964.  This song is a true account of Jim's harrowing adventure as he survived the largest earthquake to hit the North American continent in our recorded history and the tidal wave that followed it.

William Wallace - (4:49) BMI
Mike Campbell - lead/harmony vocals & acoustic guitar. Stu Schulman - drum programming, keyboard, electric bass, Hammond organ.  Heather Adrian - violin.
This song was inspired by the movie "Braveheart".  After watching it I guess my Scottish heritage came out of hiding.  Thanks Mel.

About the cover: The artwork on the cover is a stone lithography print entitled "Susan D", done by my father, Charles W. Campbell in 1980. Susan D is my sister, and I have always thought that she had the saddest eyes I had ever seen in this print.  She is much happier now.
